Job Summary
The Alumni Engagement Officer (Student & Young Alumni) is a member of the Advancement & Alumni Engagement division and serves within the Alumni Relations Office to build and sustain lifelong relationships between UT San Antonio and the alumni community. This position will primarily focus on Student & Young Alumni engagement, developing and executing programs and initiatives that foster connection beginning prior to graduation and continuing into early alumni years.
Core Responsibilities
- Initiates, plans, develops, schedules, and manages on and off-site, virtual and in-person engagement and fundraising events to include coordination of logistical and operational needs, budget management, programming, marketing, and communications development.
- Manages and coordinates alumni volunteer engagement for organizational, university, and community programming.
- Collects, records, and tracks event and volunteer program data points identified for alumni engagement metrics.
- Coordinates financial transactions, including budget tracking, invoicing, and billing submissions for events and volunteer programming.
- Manages programming and event equipment and inventory.
- Acts as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and facilitate event and programming needs.
- Supervises coordinators, work studies, and interns when applicable.
- Develops, plans, and executes innovative engagement strategies and events that optimize and improve connections and networking opportunities with new alumni and students.
- Educates the student body on the importance of alumni involvement with the university after graduation.
- Partners with other units within the University to expand collaborative opportunities for mutual benefit, including engagement of alumni in support of admissions or career networking services for students and alumni.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- One (1) year of related work experience.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications

Working Conditions

This position will work both on campus and remotely in Texas. Travel and parking expenses are the employee’s responsibility.

Job Description
Under general supervision, the Development Data Specialist is responsible for maintaining integrity and quality control of data input within the departmental database through creation of new records, maintenance of current information, and auditing of outdated information. This person must have strong analytical and communication skills and an understanding of needs and best practices of data integrity within a nonprofit fundraising department.
Responsibilities
- Gathers, organizes, analyzes and processes data from various sources across the university to maintain departmental database.
- Manages daily data integrity and maintenance requests from department stakeholders.
- Prepares general queries, runs general reports, and imports/exports data for various projects upon request.
- Provides troubleshooting, problem analysis, technical training, and support to end-users.
- Prepares routine checks of information to ensure the accuracy of the institution's database and donor information.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Possesses and applies knowledge of data integrity and structural concepts to maintain accurate data flow
- Ability to resolve issues through critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to pivot between collaborative and individual tasks
- Good attention to detail in identifying patterns and malfunctions within database or systems that may otherwise be overlooked.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software required
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with tact and integrity
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree degree or equivalent experience is required.
PREFERRED:
Saleforce experience, fundraising or healthcare experience.

Job Summary
The Prospect Researcher I is responsible for conducting and facilitating research on individuals, private businesses, public corporations, and philanthropic foundations and integrating data gathered from various public and published sources into a computer system for retrieval and analysis in support of the Office of Advancement & Alumni Engagement. This role provides skilled knowledge in performing research in support of development activities.
Core Responsibilities
- Performs prospect identification and research; meets with development staff to support activities, initiatives and programs.
- Collaborates with development staff to develop prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and overall fundraising strategies.
- Advises development staff regarding new prospect possibilities; consults on the feasibility of research requests and special projects.
- Creates profile reports tailored to specific goals and/or objectives; maintains, tracks and stores profile data.
- Maintains and updates policies and procedures for the prospect research programs; proposes changes and modifications.
- Reviews local and national news, business publications, economic trends and business development keeping abreast of prospect information; provides relevant information to development staff.
- Manages research information services and negotiates annual contracts.
- Maintains and upholds the professional and ethical standards set forth by the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA).
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with local prospect researchers and national and local associations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- One year of professional experience in prospect research or data collection and analysis in a development, financial institution, legal or related industry.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of professional experience in prospect research or data collection and analysis for a financial institution or related industry.
